Tert-butyl(2-ethylhexyl)monoperoxy carbonate is an organic peroxide of low volatility and high purity. Its CAS number is 34443-12-4.It is a clear liquid.

Tert-butyl(2-ethylhexyl)monoperoxy carbonate is also known as TBEC,TBEHC and Tert-butylperoxy-2-ethylhexanoate.It is used as a hardener for unsaturated polyester.It is also used as an initiator for free radical polymerization.

TBEC is commonly used as an initiator for ethylene polymerization.It can be used for polymerization initiation of styrene, with better activity than BPO. It is an important initiator for EVA copolymers.It is also a high-temperature curing agent for unsaturated polyester.
