Range of plush toys and play sets is on the way

Children's and family entertainment producer and rights management company Coolabi has signed a new deal with Character Options to become the master toy partner for the new animated Clangers series.

Character Options has secured the UK distribution and global (excluding US) manufacturing rights to the brand and will be producing a range of plush and playsets based on the upcoming CBeebies series.

These new products will be launching at retail on autumn/winter 2015.

"Clangers is an evergreen property that already has a strong following amongst parents of many of today's pre-schoolers," said Jon Diver, Character Option's joint managing director.

"With the upcoming CBeebies series, and timeless storylines and characters, the time is ripe to bring it back to market as a major toy line.

"I myself have great memories of these funny creatures that live on soup on a distant planet and cannot wait to see them come to life as one of Character Options' pre-school brands."

Clangers, is returning to TV after 45 years, with Coolabi, Smallfilms, CBeebies and US 24-hour pre-school network Sprout, co-producing the new series.

The £5 million production is well underway with the show scheduled to arrive in 2015.
