In the first 10 months this year, French crude steel output decreased by 1.32 percent year on year to 13.19 million mt, according to the latest data released by the French Steel Federation (FFA). In the given period, electric arc furnace (EAF) output fell 10.48 percent to 4.71 million mt, while blast furnace (BF) output increased by 4.63 percent to 8.48 million mt, both year on year.

In October this year, French crude steel production amounted to 1.29 million mt, down by 6.26 percent year on year. In the same month, crude steel production in France using EAFs increased by 2.53 percent year on year to 527,000 mt, while crude steel production using BFs totaled 760,000 mt, decreasing by 11.53 percent year on year.
