Ford sales in China increased 35% to 59,570 vehicles in September 2012, compared to the same period in 2011.

Ford China's passenger car sales, including vehicles produced at Changan Ford Mazda Automobile and imported Ford Edge SUVs, increased 54% to 44,102 units in September.

The company's sales increased 11% to 428,083 vehicles for the first nine months 2012, compared to the same period a year ago.

For the first nine months 2012, Ford sold nearly 190,000 wholesale units of the Focus nameplate in China, with 33,587 sold in September.

Sales at Jiangling Motors, Ford's commercial vehicle investment in China, were 15,468 wholesale units, compared to 15,542 wholesale units for the same period last year.

By 2015, Ford is planning to introduce 15 new vehicles and double its production capacity in China to 1.2 million vehicles.
