Hewlett-Packard and Samsung have inked agreement with Microsoft for copyright protection to assure installation of copyrighted Windows and Office software on PCs sold in China by the former two.

Microsoft declared the news on June 19. The company is launching fight against piracy in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, east China.

According to the agreement, Hewlett-Packard and Samsung will ask their direct partners to promote copyrighted Microsoft software.

In March, Microsoft signed similar agreement with Lenovo Group Limited (SEHK: 0992), saying that the cooperation will extend fight against piracy to downstream fields to prevent or limit installation of pirate Windows on PCs.
